Our tap water is sourced completely from captured Rain Water. We will provide bottled drinking water in your room. You may notice the water pressure is kept low in the shower to help us conserve water.

The towels in your room and clean fresh sheets on your bed  have all been dried by the wind and the sun.

SEE & DO

THINGS TO DO

Maya Site Tours

Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, Caracol & El Pilar Maya Sites are all within driving distance of Gumbo Limbo Jungle Resort. You can drive yourself to the sites or we can set you up with a knowledgeable local guide for the best experience.

Tikal, in Guatemala is one of the most requested Maya site tours. Yes, you can go there from here in a day trip. We can connect you with guides who will take care of all of the details so you can relax and enjoy the full experience.

ATM Cave Tour

A "Must See"  for many visitors to the Cayo Region, the Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave tour is an unforgettable experience.  We work with a preferred local tour company who will pick you up from our resort in the morning and take care of all of the details to ensure that you get the most out of this once in a lifetime experience. If you plan to do this tour, please pack sturdy water shoes or closed toed sandals, not flip flops for this excursion.

Caves, Rivers and Waterfalls of the Mountain Pine Ridge

Enjoy Cave Canoeing at Barton Creek Caves. Visit the Rio On Pools, Rio Frio Caves or the 1000 Foot Falls. We are located on the newly paved Mountain Pine Ridge Road. You can drive yourself or we can help you create a custom tour with local guides to combine the activities of your choice.

Other nearby Activities

Ziplining , Horseback tours, ATV tours, a Butterfly Farm, Cave Tubing, a Pontoon Boat float tour on a nearby reservoir, all of these things and more are within easy reach of Gumbo Limbo Jungle Resort. If you're heading out for the full day, we can recommend great restaurants. If you're coming back to have dinner here, don't forget to make your reservations and select your meal choice before you go.

Birding and Nature Tours

If birding is your thing you won't have to go very far to see some of Belize's feathered beauties. We have many right here at Gumbo Limbo. However we can also make recommendations for other birding and nature walk sites or send you out with some local professional guides to maximize your experience.

The Belize Zoo is also worth the stop. A very different kind of zoo where the animals and birds are all native to the country and many are rescues from otherwise disastrous situations.

San Ignacio Public Market

A few miles away in the vibrant town of San Ignacio, the Market operates 7 days a week. The most excitement happens on Saturdays when there are many food vendors and  there is lots of activity going on in the area known as the Welcome Center.

The bountiful local produce stands are a sight to behold! Pick up some fresh fruit for a picnic or try a local lunch from one of the many food vendors.
