History of Gumbolimbo Village Resort

The Hall family moved to Belize in 2004.

First living in Santa Elena, then San Iganacio they took their time to find their feet and decide what route they wished to take for their future.

The opportunity to purchase a piece of Belize soon presented itself and they duly jumped in and bought it.

Next on the agenda was what to do with their beautiful surroundings. Already having a small house on the property, Steve set about renovating and building themselves a homebase, this took the best part of year giving them plenty of time to plan their next move…….

Many people in Belize told them that there were two types of accommodation available, cheap or expensive. So they set about building a beautiful resort set in the jungle with all the facilities that expensive resorts were offering, but at a more affordable price.

So now it was on with the hard work. Mike,Jenny,Steve, and six year old Megan worked their fingers to the bone.

We hope that through a year and a half of blood,sweat and tears that we have achieved what we set out to do……..
